[When Rei turns the feed on, the device is a little ways away from her, so the first thing that can be seen is her straightening and withdrawing her hand.

It is very quickly apparent that she's in the kitchen, probably baking, if the ingredients around her are any indication. She's a little messy and her expression is one of vague determination. She stares at the recipe book in front of her as though uncertain about the directions she's being given.

Why is she recording this? Well, it's either a silent invitation to come and eat the cake she's making, should she succeed in finishing it, or it's an equally silent solicitation for help, since she's never baked before in her life.]

[Rei accepts the water with a nod.]

Yes. Were you?

[Minato nodded. He was okay in his definition of it.]

I was. I'm glad you were too.

[Rei accepts that answer. No matter what actually happened to Minato, if he came out of it okay, then it didn't matter.]

You were busy?

[Another nod.]

A little. I should've been more. What about you?

[She was expecting that. Minato's friends with half the mansion, it seems, and he wants to take care of everyone.]

No.

[Minato smiled a little. At least she was safe now and seemed to be fine. Well, after a pause or two, onward to maybe a happier topic.]

Did you read about pets yet?

Yes.

I think fish are easy.

[Minato nodded.]

What kind of fish?

...Blue.

[Well, there are a lot of fish that are blue. Minato took a minute to think about it.]

I can try to get one for you, if you like.

Will you help with it?

[Minato nodded. He had offered before, and didn't have any intention of taking back that offer. She wanted to try it out, so he was willing to help. It might make her happy too, or so he hoped.]

Okay.

I'll get one for you. Or we can try to get one together.

At the vendors. [They would have prettier fish than the closets.]

Okay. We can go when you're free.

[He'll go find something to trade for it.]

[She nods. She'll make a list of things they'll need for the fish. And she'll also look for something to trade.]

[Minato would help with this raising a fish thing. It'd be kind of fun, and better that he would be helping Rei with it. He got up from the table.]

Let's check on the cake.

[Rei nods and collects some toothpicks. She checks each layer to see if it's done and lets Minato start pulling them out of the oven behind her while she does.

Once the cakes are on the counter, cooling, she checks the cookbook.]

...Whipped cream.

[Minato checked on the different colored cakes. They looked pretty good, and the colors came out nicely. He was behind Rei and peeked at the cookbook too over her shoulder. He got what she needed for her and set it on the counter.]

I'll get you an icing spatula too.

[Rei murmured a quiet thank you and started to mix the whipped cream. It felt more natural to thank Minato than it did with most other people.]

[Luckily this kitchen had practically everything they could ask for. Minato easily found an icing spatula for her as well as a revolving cake decorating stand. He put those on the counter.]

Is this fun for you, Rei?

[Rei pauses, then sets the bowl down, since she's done.]

I don't know.

But you're doing this because you want to, right?

[Or so Minato had thought. It didn't necessarily mean it had to be fun though.]

[She looks at the counter, thinking about this. Bluh, emotions, what are they.]
