[When Rei turns the feed on, the device is a little ways away from her, so the first thing that can be seen is her straightening and withdrawing her hand.

It is very quickly apparent that she's in the kitchen, probably baking, if the ingredients around her are any indication. She's a little messy and her expression is one of vague determination. She stares at the recipe book in front of her as though uncertain about the directions she's being given.

Why is she recording this? Well, it's either a silent invitation to come and eat the cake she's making, should she succeed in finishing it, or it's an equally silent solicitation for help, since she's never baked before in her life.]

[Rei nods and decides to worry about these...feelings...later. Right now, she needs to put this cake together and frost it.

So. Y'know. Going to start doing that now.]

[Minato helped to move the layers closer to her so they were going to be stacked in the right order. Frosting the cake was easier now since the stand could rotate.]

[That definitely makes it easier. She also has to trim the cake layers to make them the right size, so the cake isn't like. Ten feet tall.]

[Trimming it is also helpful so it would be flat and make layering easier too. Minato helped to clean up the area and everything that they weren't using anymore while she worked on the cake.]

[The cake is a little crooked when she finishes it. Rei eyes it critically (not that anyone could tell from her expression) and looks at Minato.]

Will you taste it?

[Minato looked at the cake, and thought it was perfect the way it was. He smiled a little.]

I can try the part you trimmed with some icing. [There was some of the blue-colored layer that had been set aside on a cookie sheet.] She should get the whole cake the way it is, right?

Okay. [Rei quickly ices some of the blue cake and puts it on a plate for him.]

[Minato got a fork and thanked her for the makeshift piece of cake. He tried some of the blue with the icing on it.]

... It's good.

[Hey, that's a lot coming from a silent protagonist who will eat almost anything, really.]

[She smiles. Just a little. She knows he wouldn't lie about it just to make her happy--since it WOULDN'T make her happy to give Terezi a gross cake.]

[It really was good. Minato finished the piece he had been given, not just to prove the point, but he wanted to since hey, it's cake, and it's good.]

She'll like it. You did a good job.

[If not, Minato was going to find a place in one of the refrigerators for it just temporarily.]

We'll put it in the fridge then. It'll keep longer.

[He helped Rei move the cake onto another cake stand with a clear glass lid tall enough to cover it all untouched. There was some space in another refrigerator where the cake could be left until it was needed.]

[Rei finds some paper and a pen and writes FOR TEREZI and sticks it under the edge of cover.]

[Perfect. Minato smiled and gently closed the fridge once that was done.]
