[When Rei turns the feed on, the device is a little ways away from her, so the first thing that can be seen is her straightening and withdrawing her hand.

It is very quickly apparent that she's in the kitchen, probably baking, if the ingredients around her are any indication. She's a little messy and her expression is one of vague determination. She stares at the recipe book in front of her as though uncertain about the directions she's being given.

Why is she recording this? Well, it's either a silent invitation to come and eat the cake she's making, should she succeed in finishing it, or it's an equally silent solicitation for help, since she's never baked before in her life.]

[Rei waits until she's done with the step she's working on before she looks over at Minato.]

It's for Terezi.

[Minato stepped closer so he could see more of what she was working on.]

I think she'll like whatever you make.

[She might need it too after the last event.]

[Rei picks up the cookbook and shows him a picture (http://www.twigandthistle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Rainbow_Cake_2.jpg) of the cake she's making.]

[That cake is so pretty. But looks a little difficult since there are so many layers.]

Did you need help?

Yes. [Noooo hesitation there. :|]

[Minato nodded. At least she had a recipe as reference, which was a lot better than some other people he knew who had tried to cook or bake. Each cake layer should be the same thing except six times over and with a different food coloring.

Minato read over the recipe and then quietly helped Rei with it as best he could.]

[It takes some time before they have the layers in the oven....s. Rei stands in front of them for a minute, then goes to sit at the table to wait.]

[Minato set a timer and also checked his watch for the start time. He joined Rei at the table after getting a bottle of water for her.]

Were you okay for the rest of the event?

[Rei accepts the water with a nod.]

Yes. Were you?

[Minato nodded. He was okay in his definition of it.]

I was. I'm glad you were too.

[Rei accepts that answer. No matter what actually happened to Minato, if he came out of it okay, then it didn't matter.]

You were busy?

[Another nod.]

A little. I should've been more. What about you?

[She was expecting that. Minato's friends with half the mansion, it seems, and he wants to take care of everyone.]

No.

[Minato smiled a little. At least she was safe now and seemed to be fine. Well, after a pause or two, onward to maybe a happier topic.]

Did you read about pets yet?

Yes.

I think fish are easy.

[Minato nodded.]

What kind of fish?

...Blue.

[Well, there are a lot of fish that are blue. Minato took a minute to think about it.]

I can try to get one for you, if you like.

Will you help with it?

[Minato nodded. He had offered before, and didn't have any intention of taking back that offer. She wanted to try it out, so he was willing to help. It might make her happy too, or so he hoped.]

Okay.

I'll get one for you. Or we can try to get one together.

At the vendors. [They would have prettier fish than the closets.]

Okay. We can go when you're free.

[He'll go find something to trade for it.]

[She nods. She'll make a list of things they'll need for the fish. And she'll also look for something to trade.]
